There are five categories of membership in TUA: |
Eligibility Criteria |
Student (undergraduate & graduate) this is for students who are currently enrolled in a college or university that have an existing chapter of TUA. |
- Be a full time or part time student in Human Services (or closely related field within the social sciences); and
- Have maintained an overall grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
- Students pursuing an Associate degree must have completed at least 12 credit hours towards the degree.
- Students pursuing a Bachelor Degree must have completed at least the equivalent of 3 full-time semesters or 5 full-time quarters.
- Students pursuing a Graduate Degree must have completed at least the equivalent of one full-time academic term.

Faculty this is for faculty members who are employed at a college or university that have an existing chapter of TUA. |
- Be a full-time or part-time faculty in Human Services (or closely related field within the social sciences)
- have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching or two years part-time teaching while at the college/university where they are inducted; and
- have maintained an overall grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale while enrolled in their education program.

Alumni this is for students who have graduated from a university that starts a chapter after the student graduates. |
- Have graduated with a human services (or closely related field within the social sciences) major or minor;
- have been in the highest 35% of their class; and
- have graduated with a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average
|
At-Large is for students who are at a college or university where a chapter is not currently existing and where one will not be started. |
- Be currently enrolled or teaching in a Human Services (or related social science field) degree program;
- Have maintained a GPA of 3.25 or higher; and
- Demonstrate why a chapter cannot be established at your institution

Honorary is used to recognize outstanding professional achievement and service to the Human Services field by persons not eligible for student, alumni, or faculty membership. |
- Not fit the eligibility requirements outlined for the above 4 membership categories

Membership Fees
- New Charter fee - $100
- Chapter Annual Report & Dues - $50
- Membership dues - $40 per applicant (student, alumni, faculty, & honorary)
Please note: TUA and NOHS require separate memberships.
