Keynote Speaker

Dr. Jessica Ruiz, Chief Psychologist and Director of Behavioral Health at Behavioral Health Associates of Broward and Counseling Centers of Goodman JFS, will be our Keynote speaker.  Dr Ruiz will be discussing how BHAB worked with the Israel Trauma Coalition immediately following the tragic shooting in Parkland to assist over 300 clinicians, counselors, teachers, clergy, guidance counselors and first responders. She will be discussing the multiple training sessions that impacted more than 1,600 people so they could help begin the healing process throughout Broward County.

Conference Call for Proposals

The Southern Organization of Human Services Conference is seeking workshop proposals for its annual conference to be held April 15-18, 2019 in Miami, FL.

Theme:  Surviving and Thriving in a Complex World

In keeping with the conference theme this year we are issuing a call for proposals which focus on providing knowledge and developing skills which support people in surviving and thriving in our ever increasing complex world. 

The audience will include students, new practitioners, and more established professionals.

Submissions may focus on interventions, skills, knowledge, wellness related to helping people be effective in working with people who are struggling in coping with the stress of events and issues that arise in everyday life.

Submit your proposal and share your expertise with colleagues and those just entering the field of Human Services.

Presentations are typically either 60 or 90 minutes long.  Presenters may submit proposals that are longer where they will need multiple sessions to complete.  If this is the case please specify the time you will need.

To submit your proposal, save a copy of this document on your computer.  Type your responses into this form. Please be sure to enter your name in the presenter information form. Save your Proposal Submission document in MS Word (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf), and UP-LOAD using the "Submit Proposal" button below.  Proposals must be submitted by 12/15/2018 for consideration.
