Hello,

My name is Tim Hudson and I am seeking participants to be part of my (researcher) doctoral education program. The purpose of the research is to explore how human service professionals perceive their self-efficacy and preparedness to engage and treat men who were sexually assaulted as children when sexual abuse issues are not the primary issue. The study will consist of 10 participants who meet the inclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria includes being a human service professional in the United States; have previously provided services to adult men that disclosed sexual abuse as a child when that was not their presenting issue; have worked with this client(s) for at least three months; currently hold a bachelors degree or higher in a human service subject and be over the age of 18. If you are personally receiving mental health treatment or decline to take part in a Zoom interview and the follow-up contact to ensure the accuracy of the interview contents you would not be eligible for participation.

Interested subjects will email me at [email protected]. I will contact you via phone to ask a series of screening questions. If you meet the screening question criteria, a date/time will be scheduled that the subject agrees upon to conduct the interview via zoom. You will be emailed a copy of the informed consent form for review. If you agree to the informed consent, you will sign it and email it back to the researcher who will sign it and email a copy back to the you. At this time the zoom interview will begin and will be audio recorded. This audio recording will be transcribed for accuracy purposes. The audio recording will be stored in a lock box with a 4-digit code for 7 years. No identifiable information will be used in the study. The zoom interview will last approximately 60 minutes. It may be necessary to have a follow-up zoom meeting to review content to ensure accuracy. This zoom meeting should last up to 60 minutes.
Please contact [email protected] for more information or to express interest in being a participant.

Thank you,
Tim Hudson
