Steve has been a Human Services Professional for over 40 years. He received his Masters Degree from The George Washington University in Education and Human Development, with a concentration in Rehabilitation Counseling.

He spent the first 25 years of his career working in a variety of positions with a focus on the provision of services to people with an intellectual disability.

Steve worked at multiple levels in the field from the provision of direct support services, to managing programs, to development of programs and management of large systems delivering services.

In 2006 Steve began a teaching career, beginning as an adjunct instructor in the Wisconsin Technical College system. In 2011 Steve became the Department Head of the Human Services Program at Trident Technical College(TTC) in Charleston, SC. He taught at the college through summer of 2022, when he retired from his teaching position.

While teaching at TTC he became involved with the National Organization for Human Services (NOHS). Steve was a Board Member of the Regional Affiliate of NOHS, the Southern Organization for Human Services (SOHS) serving as Treasurer, Secretary, and then President of the SOHS.

In 2018 Steve joined the Board at the National level and served as the VP for Regional Development, and in 2019 became President of the BOD at the national level.

On July 1 Steve was appointed as the first Managing Director of NOHS and currently holds that position.

Steve currently lives in Appleton WI, and is optimistic about the future contribution that NOHS can make to the Human Service Community and profession.
