Howard Harris Professional Development Award
The National Organization for Human Services honors Howard Harris' contributions to the field of human services. This award is bestowed upon a member of NOHS who demonstrates promise in the area of research and scholarship. Nominees/applicants are typically in an academic setting and must be in within the first five years of their careers.
Your application will be evaluated on the following criteria using a five-point scale where 5 = Outstanding and 1 = Doesn’t Meet
- Member of NOHS for at least one year and current member
- A complete application packet with no late materials
- Evidence that the nominee is within first five year of career as Human Services educator or practitioner
- Resume / Vitae
- Two letters of support from individuals who know the applicant’s work and can testify to the nominee’s accomplishments
- Sample published article in a national human service journal
- Sample grant proposal
- Current plan for research contributing to the advancement of Human Services
- Record of published scholarship in a nationally refereed journals focused on human service education or related human services issues
