Award Recipients for 2010
HAROLD MCPHEETERS STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPThis service-focused scholarship honors a student currently enrolled in a human services degree. The winner is expected to demonstrate work in human services where they have been acknowledged by others to be respectful of and dedicated to clients as well as possessing interpersonal skills with colleagues in the workplace. Breya Chantarabunchorn Breya graduated in June, 2010 with a perfect GPA in family and human services from the University of Oregon. Her experience in human services includes internships at Bailey Hill Instructional Center, Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, and Roosevelt Middle School. In addition she has extensive volunteer experience at both the University of Oregon and Sexual Assault Support Services. Breya has won numerous academic honors. She is applying the scholarship toward graduate studies in the human services field.
MIRIAM CLUBOK AWARDThis award is presented to a member of National Organization for Human Services who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in support of National Organization for Human Services’ mission, goals, and objectives. Susan Claxton Susan has worked in the field of human services and with both the National Organization for Human Services and the Southern Organization for Human Services for many years. In addition to presenting numerous workshops at SOHS and NOHS annual conferences throughout her career, she has also served in several leadership positions on the executive boards of both organizations. Susan has been exceptionally active in NOHS and SOHS committee work, has volunteered countless hours of service to both organizations, has promoted the human services field throughout the country, and is a demonstrated leader and professional.
